About Innova IRV Microelectronics (IRVI)
INNOVA IRV Microelectronics S.L., a subsidiary of Fundación Instituto Ricardo Valle de Innovación (INNOVA IRV), specializes in Ultra Low Power RISC-V solutions for Microelectronics . The company leads two significant European initiatives: RISCcom “Low-power secure multipurpose RSIC-V based system for wireless communications”, advancing Spain’s microelectronics sector through RISC-V architecture and integrated RF research, and DKULPIOT “Design Kit Ultra Low Power Internet Of Things”, an IPCEI project developing SiP (System in Package) solutions and rapid microcomputing prototyping. Both projects operate under the European Union’s Recovery and Transformation Plan, with support from CDTI and the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism respectively. Fundación INNOVA IRV works as a RISC-V subcontractor in PERTE Chip II, with two granted projects SINAPTIX and RHEIN-MMC

As a Digital ASIC Design Engineer at Innova IRV Microelectronics, you will join our engineering team based in Málaga, working together to shape next-generation chip solutions. You will drive the development of complex chip architectures, from initial specification to implementation, focusing on power optimization, advanced packaging technologies, and integration with analog and communication subsystems. The role combines hands-on technical work with cross-team collaboration, as you’ll help define and implement architectures that balance performance, power, and area constraints. If you have experience in SoC design, are comfortable with industry-standard tools and protocols, and want to contribute to innovative microelectronics development from Málaga, we encourage you to apply.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and development of digital ASICs from specification to implementation.
  • Design and development of Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL), firmware and low-level drivers, ensuring proper integration with hardware components.
  • RTL development and verification using industry-standard methodologies.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams for system integration.
  • Technical documentation and design review participation.

Minimum Knowledge and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in digital ASIC design.
  • Master’s degree in electronic engineering, Computer Engineering, or other discipline with focus on semiconductor design.
  • Embedded designs and firmware development.
  • Knowledge of the full ASIC development process.
  • Excellent RTL Verilog or System Verilog coding skills.
  • Understanding of backend flow: Synthesis, P&R, DFT, Power, LEC and STA.
  • Skilled in Schematic & PCB design.
  • Has the ability to work independently and collaborate with other teams or departments.

Desired Knowledge and Experience:

  • PhD in Electronic Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • EDA tools (Synopsys preferable).
  • RISC-V designs.
  • Knowledge of power management applications.
  • FPGA design and validation.
  • Scripting and automation languages like TCL, Python and C/C++.

As a Product Development Team Lead at Innova IRV Microelectronics, you will join our engineering team based in Málaga, working together to shape next-generation chip solutions. You will drive the execution team through the different phases of the product development cycle, from initial specification to product launch, translating strategic goals into actionable product outcomes, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. The role combines a blend of strategic thinking, team leadership and a deep understanding of the product development lifecycle. If you have experience in semiconductor-based product development (embedded systems, SoC, MCUs, communication systems), are comfortable with industry-standard tools and methodologies, and want to contribute to innovative microelectronics development from Málaga, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Communication with stakeholders, including management, marketing and sales team, to ensure alignment and support.
Overseeing the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring quality and timely delivery
Managing and mentoring the product development team, fostering collaboration and ensuring efficient workflows
Identify and mitigate potential risks and roadblocks throughout the product development process, ensuring timely and successful product launches
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and drive continuous improvement through iteration

Minimum Knowledge and Experience:

5+ years of experience in semiconductors-based product development.
Master’s degree in electronic engineering, Computer Engineering, or other discipline with focus on semiconductor design.
Strong leadership and team management skills
Knowledge of the ASIC product development cycle.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple tasks projects simultaneously
Technical proficiency in embedded systems, MCUs, wireless communications
Desired Knowledge and Experience:
PhD in Electronic Engineering Computer Engineering, or other discipline with focus on semiconductor design.
Working in close contact with customers, successfully dealing with needs, issues and demands
Awareness on industry trends to identify business expansion opportunities
Practical experience assessing current and emerging customer needs in combination of products designed by the organisation
Experience creating and prioritising features implementation based on market needs, user feedback and business objectives
Tracking key metrics and analysing user data to assess product performance and identify areas for improvement
