Innova IRV Participates in the 22nd European Week of Regions and Cities in Brussels

The Innova IRV Foundation participated in the 22nd edition of the European Week of Regions and Cities, held from October 7 to 10 in Brussels. The event brought together over 5,000 participants across nearly 200 sessions to discuss the common challenges faced by Europe’s regions and cities.
Under the theme “Empowering Regions,” representatives from local governments, European institutions, academia, and the private sector addressed critical issues such as economic development and social cohesion in Europe, emphasizing the key role that regions play in the implementation of EU cohesion policy.
Innova IRV organized one of the panels at this international event, focusing on the promotion of innovation in microelectronics and photonics for competitiveness and convergence. The panel was moderated by the Foundation’s President, Ezequiel Navarro, and featured the participation of Lourdes Cruz, Director of Business Development and Investment Attraction at Málaga TechPark; José Capmany, researcher at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) and co-founder of iPRONICS; Frank Bösenberg, Director of Silicon Saxony; and Yves Gigase, Head of Programmes at the Chips Joint Undertaking.
The European Week of Regions and Cities is the largest annual event held in Brussels dedicated to cohesion policy.
