Innova IRV in Santander 38º: The Meeting of the Digital Economy and Telecommunications by AMETIC

AMETIC, the voice of the digital industry in Spain, has once again brought together the leaders of the technology sector at the 38th AMETIC Meeting on the Digital Economy and Telecommunications, held in the early days of September in Santander.

This edition, under the slogan “Collaboration in Action. Ready for Change,” was organized by AMETIC, in collaboration with Banco Santander and the UIMP (Menéndez Pelayo International University). It featured nearly 100 speakers, making this event the epicenter of the digital industry sector.

As usual, the meeting saw a broad institutional presence, with ministers such as: Jordi Hereu, Minister of Industry and Tourism; Diana Morant, Minister of Science, Innovation, and Universities; State Secretaries María González Veracruz, Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure; Clara Sanz, Secretary General of Vocational Education and Training; Juan Fernando Muñoz, Secretary General for Digital Health, Information, and Innovation of the National Health System; Teresa Riesgo, Secretary General for Innovation; and Jordi García Brustenga, Director General of Industrial Strategy and Small and Medium Enterprises; as well as Ignasi Belda, recently appointed Director General of the new AESIA (Spanish Agency for Artificial Intelligence Supervision).

INNOVA IRV AND PLAN CRECE AT SANTANDER 38

Innova IRV, with the support of the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mines, participated as a sponsor at the event, where it organized a panel on “Collaborative Innovation Driven by Companies: The Case of Innova IRV and Plan Crece.” The panel included Cristóbal Sánchez, General Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Energy, and Mines of the Andalusian Regional Government; Esther Borao, Director General of the Technological Institute of Aragón (ITA); Francisco Alcalá, CEO of TST Sistemas (Grupo Celestia); Xavier López, Corporate and Operations Director of EURECAT; with moderation by Felipe Romera, Director of MÁLAGA TECH PARK.

During the session, Cristóbal Sánchez stated that “Andalusia can contribute to Spain’s and Europe’s competitiveness and help the Spanish industry grow, driven from Andalusia.”

Regarding Aragón, the Director General of the Technological Institute stated, “We are constantly keeping an eye on new technologies and the innovation strategies that Europe has, and we need to help companies transform through technological innovation so they can have a greater positive impact on society.”

On his part, Fran Alcalá highlighted the work developed by Innova IRV, especially in the field of microelectronics, a sector in which collaboration is crucial to compete on a global scale.

Finally, Xavier López referred to the “alignment being created by Innova IRV among all innovation actors,” allowing the creation of a highly efficient ecosystem that drives growth.
