We attended the inauguration of Google’s new cybersecurity headquarters in Malaga
Google has inaugurated its new cybersecurity center, Google Safety Engineering Center (GSEC), located in Paseo de la Farola in Malaga. This is the company’s first cybersecurity center in Spain and the most important in Europe, in addition to those in Munich and Zurich.
Bernardo Quintero, founder of VirusTotal and vice-president of cybersecurity at Innova IRV, has been the main architect of the implementation of this center, which will work to track cyber threats and develop online security tools.
The GSEC is an international cybersecurity center and a collaborative space that combines best practices and research. It is open to institutional decision-makers, teams of experts and academic institutions, Quintero explained in an interview for the newspaper El País.
Also present at the opening event were Natalia Perez and Francisco Javier Lopez, also vice presidents of Innova IRV. Both expressed their enthusiasm for the opening of the new headquarters and the positive impact it will have on the innovation ecosystem.
Google’s new cybersecurity headquarters in Malaga demonstrates the company’s commitment to online security and its continued investment in talent and technology in Spain.
