Andalucía and Málaga establish themselves as technological leaders at ITF World 2025 in Antwerp.

The ITF World 2025 event, held in Antwerp (Belgium) on May 20–21, featured the participation of several Andalusian delegations, including Andalucía TRADE, the Regional Government of Andalusia, Malaga TechPark, the Innova IRV Foundation, the Málaga City Council, and the University of Málaga. This international forum, organized by imec, is one of the world’s most prominent events in the field of technology and innovation.

Andalusia’s presence at this strategic gathering reflects a shared commitment to positioning the region—particularly Málaga—as a key hub for technology and microelectronics in Southern Europe. This goal gains even greater significance with the upcoming establishment of an imec headquarters in Málaga, which will further strengthen the region’s innovation ecosystem.

This milestone also highlights Andalusia’s technological potential and underscores the importance of public-private collaboration and investment in innovation as drivers of economic development, helping to place the region on the global map of advanced technology.

ITF World 2025 brought together more than 2,000 industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to discuss the future of semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation. The program featured keynote talks by renowned experts, a showcase of cutting-edge technology demonstrations, and sessions focused on the NanoIC pilot line—part of the European Chips Act—which aims to accelerate the development of sub-2nm chip systems.
