Innova IRV once again took part in one of the world’s leading events for the photonics industry, strengthening its positioning in advanced technologies and exploring new opportunities for international collaboration in areas such as photonics, microelectronics, automotive, energy and artificial intelligence.
On 24 and 25 September, Málaga hosted a new edition of the Global Photonics Economic Forum, an international event bringing together representatives from industry, technology centres, companies and institutions involved in the development and application of photonic technologies.
Throughout the two-day event, the Fundación Innova IRV team held a number of meetings with representatives from participating companies and organisations, exploring potential areas of collaboration and new opportunities for the development of technology projects, particularly in sectors where photonics is playing an increasingly important role.
The Foundation also welcomed Jorge Paradela, Regional Minister for University, Industry, Energy and Innovation of the Regional Government of Andalusia, who had the opportunity to learn first-hand about the Foundation’s strategy across these technology verticals.
Photonics and microelectronics for new industrial developments
Participation in Global Photonics also provided an opportunity to showcase the capabilities of IRV Microelectronics, a business initiative linked to the Foundation and focused on technological development in areas such as microelectronics, RISC-V architectures, photonics and artificial intelligence.
These capabilities open up new opportunities for applications in strategic industrial sectors, including automotive and energy, where the integration of photonic technologies, advanced electronics and artificial intelligence is creating new avenues for innovation.
Global Photonics therefore provided a particularly valuable environment for identifying technology partners, discovering new developments and connecting with organisations interested in advancing joint projects and use cases involving these technologies.
Málaga, a meeting point for international innovation
Hosting the event in Málaga once again highlights the city’s ability to attract international technology events and foster connections between the local ecosystem and innovation stakeholders from around the world.
For Fundación Innova IRV, participating in forums of this kind is part of its commitment to building connections, promoting collaborative projects and contributing to the development of technologies with real-world industrial applications, while further strengthening the international profile of Málaga’s technology ecosystem.
