Innova IRV strengthens its international presence by joining the European industry association AENEAS

  • AENEAS is one of the leading international collaboration platforms in the field of microelectronic and nanoelectronic systems.
  • The incorporation will allow Innova IRV to strengthen its leadership and networking in microelectronics, expanding its collaboration in R&D and innovation activities within the European ecosystem.

The Ricardo Valle Innovation Institute Foundation (Innova IRV) has taken a new strategic step in its international expansion by incorporating its company, Innova IRV Microelectronics SL, as a member of AENEAS (Association for European NanoElectronics Activities), a prominent European industry association that drives innovation in micro and nanoelectronics.

AENEAS is a non-profit organization that represents large and medium-sized companies, research centers, and universities involved in key technologies for the development of advanced electronic solutions in Europe. The main objective of this European association is to promote Research, Development, and Innovation to strengthen the competitiveness of the European industry across the entire value chain of electronic components and systems.

This entity acts as a facilitator of major collaborative initiatives, such as the Xecs, PENTA, and EURIPIDES² programs, all focused on fostering innovation initiatives in the field of microelectronic and nanoelectronic components and systems.

In light of the boost to the ecosystem expected from IMEC’s presence in Málaga and new strategic challenges requiring increased collaboration with European institutions, Innova IRV sees it as a priority to focus on attracting investment and developing innovation initiatives in the microelectronics sector. This is a sector that will require the addition of over 50,000 highly qualified workers in the EU, as well as international collaboration to advance smaller node technologies that enable supercomputing and AI at competitive costs and with minimal energy consumption.

The integration of the Innova IRV ecosystem into AENEAS aligns with its mission to promote technology transfer, entrepreneurship, and digital sovereignty through strategic alliances with key players in the scientific and industrial fields. This incorporation not only reinforces its positioning in international innovation networks but also opens new opportunities for multilateral collaborations in areas such as microelectronics, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and high-performance computing.

“Being part of AENEAS will allow us to directly engage with European technology leaders and participate in projects that will shape the future of electronics in Europe. Ultimately, it’s about working together to tackle challenges and drive progress for a sustainable and competitive Europe,” said Ezequiel Navarro, President of Innova IRV.

“We must make the adoption of the most innovative technologies simple and cost-effective so that our companies become more competitive; we must connect our Technology Centers and Universities with cutting-edge projects; we must move from ideas to implementation, from transfer to traction, from research to innovation,” Navarro added.

This alliance strengthens Innova IRV’s commitment to the development of an innovative ecosystem based on open standards, international cooperation, and technological leadership.
