Eurecat-Innova IRV participates in the matchmaking “SMART Data and Critical Patient”.
The healthcare sector has gathered these days in Malaga Tech Park on the occasion of the “Matchmaking Innovation in Healthcare: Smart Data and Critical Patient”, an event organized by the Spanish Federation of Healthcare Technology Companies (Fenin) and the Andalusian Regional Government, to address the healthcare challenges related to the use of data and to promote networking between the different agents in the ecosystem.
This event was inaugurated by the Minister of Health and Consumer Affairs, Catalina García, at Ibima-Plataforma Bionand, where the first day of the meeting focused on addressing the healthcare challenges surrounding the use of data in critical patient care and how to respond to them thanks to technological developments (AI, electronic medical devices).
The second day was designed to promote networking between healthcare technology companies, startups, technology centers, R&D&I groups from hospitals, universities, etc., as well as the celebration of a startup pitch.
Within this framework, the joint innovation unit Eurecat-Innova IRV has participated in this conference by responding to one of the proposed challenges on “Identification of phenotypes of critical patients – Data science for a precision and value-based medicine” by Francisco Velasco, CTO of Applied Digital Technologies of Innova IRV and Felip Miralles, executive director of Eurecat.
With the celebration of this conference, the creation of a pole of industrial innovation in health technology was also initiated, focusing on the needs of new innovative ecosystems and public-private strategies aimed at better management and health care for critical patients.
In fact, one of the focal points of the meeting was also the internationalization of new products and services developed in Andalusia, which will allow synergies to be established with international reference centers, thus boosting economic growth and differentiation in industrial and knowledge generation capabilities.
This “Matchmaking” has counted with the collaboration of the Network of Research Management Foundations of the SSPA; Málaga TechPark; Ibima-Plataforma Bionand; the ITEMAS Platform of the Carlos III Health Institute and the Spanish Society of Biomedical Engineering.
